Heath Bensted

Head Professional Heath Bensted has had over 20 years working in the golf industry - 18 years of them at Northern Golf Cub.  Heath has gained valuable experience as head coach at Ancora Golf Institute in Jakarta, where Heath worked with Indonesia's best young talent.

Heath is now focused on managing the Northern Golf Academy, which is slowly becoming one of the best coaching facilities in Melbourne. 

​

Heath has helped improve all level golfers from beginners to professionals, ladies and juniors.  His philosophy is simple and will personalise your lessons around your goals with basic changes for maximum results.

​

With a Fitness Diploma Heath also specialises in those golfers that may have any physical limitations or who a returning from injury.

Greg McConnell
Head Teaching Professional

Began his professional career as a player before realising his passion for coaching and helping others.
During the past 15 years as a teaching professional Greg has worked with players of all skill levels from beginners to elite touring professionals.
His coaching philosophy is keeping the swing as simple as possible, enabling the player to enjoy their golf more and at the same time creating more power, consistency and reduce the risk of injury to the body.
Greg's passion is searching for multiple ways to swing the club so I can fit a swing that will work best for each individual relative to the players ability and physical limitations.

Credentials:
- Diploma in fitness
- Background in biomechanics
- 10 years using ball flight tracking monitors
- Coach to professionals on tour

Luke has been a member of the PGA since 2008. Luke completed his traineeship at Heidelberg Golf Club where he was a member for over 20 years. While being a member, Luke represented Heidelberg in Division 1 Colts and Division 2 Seniors.

Coaching Philosophy

Every player has their own unique swing and natural talents. Luke likes to work with each golfer’s natural abilities and apply proven golf fundamentals to his coaching. Luke’s approachable nature will ensure that golfers of all levels from beginner to professional feel comfortable and enjoy the experience while achieving their goals.

Luke likes to relate the golf swing to natural movements in other sports to help simplify the understanding so the player can achieve results. He has proven track record with coaching juniors and elite players that have successfully made it to college in the USA. Luke has also taught golf professionals on the Southern PGA tour and Men’s and Women’s Division 1 pennant players.

Luke has taught beginner ladies programs with up to 40 participants, built strong junior programs at golf courses and schools and currently holds an all abilities coaching certificate which allows him to get all golfers improving and enjoying the game.
